On the hunt for a next-gen console? Here’s where to buy it
UPDATE: PS5 bundles are still in stock at Game, Scan and The Game Collection. It could restock at Currys in the next few days. Read on for more information.
It’s been a year and a half since the PS5 was first released, yet we’re all still here, clinging on to the dream of owning one of the elusive consoles.
Shelves remain barren and empty, and restocks still come and go in the blink of an eye thanks to the ongoing global semiconductor shortage sparked by the coronavirus pandemic. This has meant consoles are still tricky to get hold of, both online and in-store.
But the situation is getting better – slowly. April was one of the best months for restocks since the start of 2022, seeing 21 drops take place in total, We saw restocks from PlayStation DirectShopToCurrys, ArgosAOGameSmyths ToysVery and many more independent retailers to boot. As we inch closer to summer, we’re hoping May will continue that momentum, though it’s looking like a quieter month so far.
Still on the hunt? Our liveblog is here to get you one of Sony’s elusive next-gen consoles, as well as provide you with the details on the best games and accessories to grab alongside your new machine, plus the latest game reviews. If you want to find out which online retailers will be the first to restock, then keep scrolling to receive updates as they happen.

There is a PS5 bundle available at Scan but much like the offering from The Game Collection, it’s a fairly hefty one, but it does include some nice extras.
As well as a copy of Horizon Forbidden West, buyers will also get an extra dualsense controller, WD Black SN850 1TB SSD (another of our top picks for PS5 accessories) as well as a heatsink and cover.
The extra 1TB of space for your new console will go a long way if you’re planning on downloading big games such as Fortnite, Call of Duty or Apex Legends.

May is a very special month for us running the PS5 liveblog as we celebrate our one year anniversary!
While Sony’s stock woes date back to the console’s launch in November 2020, we took it upon ourselves to help as many of you get a new PS5 as possible before the scalpers could get a chance and we would like to think we’ve been quite successful in that mission.
To commemorate this milestone, our tech writer Alex Lee has put together an article highlighting what one year tracking Sony stock has taught him as well as the tips and tricks we employ to make sure you’re the first to hear about new drops.
Read our full article on what one year of PS5 stock tracking has taught us.
It’s been 365 days since I first started tracking PS5 restocks. Here are all my top tips to help you secure a PS5 from major retailers like Game, Argos and more
If you take a look at The Game Collection, you will see that they do have a PS5 in stock but one with a fairly hefty price tag (£759.95,
It comes with a whopping eight titles, including (deep breath): Elden Ring Launch Edition, Deathloop, Back 4 Blood, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Watch Dogs Legion, Fortnite The Last Laugh Bundle and Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate.
But are all those games worth it for the asking price? It’s a bit rich for our blood, if we’re being honest and while there are still bundles available from Game that are a bit more reasonable, you’re better off buying one of those.

If you’re looking to pick up one of the consoles from Game, then there are still a few bundles available, all of which include a copy of Horizon Forbidden West, one of our favourite titles so far in 2022.
The standalone PS5 has since sold out, which is usually the case as it’s normally the cheapest. But the next cheapest includes a copy of Horizon Forbidden West (£519.98, which costs an extra £69.99 on top of the PS5’s RRP of £449.99.
If you are looking for even more extras, then the next one up also includes a blue dualsense controller for £584.97 ( as well as the game, which will be useful if you are hoping to play any two-player games on the console. It’s also one of our favourite PS5 accessories and the striking new colourway is an added bonus.

There are still bundles available at Game and The Game Collection so if you’re hoping to bag yourself a new console before the week is out, now’s your chance.
But we’ll be sticking around to see if any more retailers are looking to restock over the next few days. Stay with us for all the latest updates.
That’s all from us today! It looks like there are still bundles available to purchase from ShopTo and Game so if you are hoping to get your hands on a new console there’s still plenty of options available.

One of the biggest gaming news stories this week was confirmation that EA Sports would end their partnership with FIFA, bringing into question what that could mean for the rest of the bestselling sports franchise.
But in the mean time, gamers can still claim their copy of FIFA 22 through their PS Plus subscription. It’s one of the more generous offerings from the service and is definitely worth adding to your library if you haven’t done so already. Remember, even if you don’t download it straight away, simply claiming it will entitle you to the game for as long as you have an active subscription.

PS Plus users can get up to three games through the service every month for their Sony Playstation 4 and 5 consoles.
